Bonita Veterinary Hospital will be closed on 11/2 and 11/30
Bonita Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1978, making it the first veterinary practice in town! Over the last 40 years, we have made it our mission to practice uncommonly exceptional veterinary medicine and customer service. We have also worked hard to build a culture of not only taking the best care of pets, but also pet parents. Your trust in us and the care our experienced team provides is our top priority. Once you walk through our doors, you are family – and we wouldn’t want it any other way!
Bonita Veterinary Hospital has a highly trained, compassionate, and educated team of individuals to make any visit easy on you and your pet.

Since founding Bonita Veterinary Hospital in 1978, our leaders Dr. Patterson and Dr. Ogden have been invaluable to the growth of our hospital and our community as a whole. Our Founders have been the heart of the greater Bonita Springs area promoting and supporting local businesses, donating time and resources to charitable causes, and supporting local youth leagues. Over the past 40 years, Dr. Patterson and Dr. Ogden have dedicated themselves to building a hospital of dedicated animal care experts who will continue to proudly serve the pets and people of Bonita Springs.

At Bonita Veterinary Hospital, we take patient care very seriously and are always looking for ways to improve our skills and continue our education. Our team recently participated in the RECOVER Initiative.
RECOVER is evidence based canine and feline CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) guidelines. RECOVER certification is broken up into Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS). BLS focuses on recognizing Cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA), responding to CPA, providing high quality chest compressions, mouth to snout and intubated ventilation, and the CPR 2-minute cycle. ALS focuses on continuing the RECOVER CPR algorithm, including monitoring equipment (ECG & ETCO2), diagnosing ECG arrest rhythm and shockable rhythms, defibrillation, and drug therapies. RECOVER certification includes an online course going over the evidence-based guidelines and an in-person simulation training. The simulation training includes use of simulation software and CPR mannequin teams of 4-6 people, working together on 2-3 simulation cases. The in-person training includes training on feedback and closed-loop communication, and ends with a mega-code simulation test case. Upon completion of this training, we are very proud to announce that all of our Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, and Assistants completed the BLS & ALS Certification, while two of our Client Service Representatives are BLS Certified!
