Meet Laurie, one of our receptionists. She has been with our practice since March 2004. She’s a self-acclaimed ‘Jersey Girl’ who’s lived in Florida since 2000. Working at Bonita Vet has allowed her to see lots of wonderful breeds of dogs and cats, but she can’t choose a favorite…Laurie has also seen some wildlife in the office, like an eagle and a bobcat. When not working, you will find her eyes in a Nook or watching an action movie.
Meet Rea, one of our receptionists. Rea began working at our practice in July 1989. Rea has a strong knowledge of veterinary medicine after spending her entire career in every aspect of a veterinary hospital as well as extensive time in shelter medicine.
Rea has a strong interest in genealogy and family history. She is proud to honor her patriot ancestors as a member of The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and currently working on identifying veterans and others at a local cemetery.

Meet Monica, one of our Technicians. Monica grew up loving dogs and riding horses in both Georgia as well as Virginia. That love of animals led her to start training as a Veterinary Technician in 1999. During her training she grew to be fascinated with Veterinary Medicine and the feeling of positively affecting the lives of cherished pets and wildlife. Throughout her career she became intrigued with emergency medicine/critical care and prefers working on challenging cases. After obtaining a practical nursing degree and being inducted into the National Honor Society, she is now seeking a BSN from Florida Southwestern State while also working part time here as well as a local emergency hospital. Monica’s hobbies include anything requiring adrenaline or being outdoors. She has a 9 year old daughter, a Chihuahua named “Baby”, a cat named “Stormy”, and keeps a saltwater fish tank. An interesting note is that all of her pets were obtained while on the job.
Meet Alexis, one of our receptionists who is also training as a technician. Alexis was raised in Florida and has always had a passion for animals of all kind. In 2009 she started as an intern with us while attending high school. Shortly after she graduated she was hired on to our staff.
