Frank Ogden, DVM
Dr. Francis W. Ogden (Frank) received his DVM degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in 1976. Upon graduation he practiced small animal and emergency medicine in Tampa, Florida and later in Fort Myers, Florida. In 1978 Dr. Ogden and Dr. Patterson established the Bonita Veterinary Hospital where he still practices. His primary interest is in small animal surgery, specifically orthopedics. Dr. Ogden is a certified member of PennHip. He performs various orthopedic procedures such as bone plating fractures, joint arthrodesis, patella luxations and cruciate ligament repairs on a regular basis. Dr. Ogden is trained in several techniques for cruciate ligament repair including the Arthrex TR (tightrope) technique, the TPLO (tibial plateau leveling) and the TTA (tibial tubercle advancement) techniques. His goal is to return your pet to pre-injury function in a timely, compassionate and affordable manner. Dr. Ogden is a passionate fly fisherman, and when not in surgery, he can be found fly fishing the local Florida waters or traveling to exotic locations in search of new fly fishing opportunities.
Thomas Patterson, DVM
Dr. Tom Patterson received his DVM degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in 1976. In 1978 Dr. Ogden and Dr. Patterson established the Bonita Veterinary Hospital where he still practices. His primary interest is in small animal internal medicine.Outside of the practice he enjoys spending time with his wife and 5 children. Dr. Patterson participates in numerous sports and activities including basketball and working out. Dr. Patterson’s known as a “health nut” and enjoys a life focused on family, health and well-being.
Daniel Besser, DVM
Dr. Daniel Besser received his undergraduate degree from the University of Buffalo, NY. He then went onto receive his Doctor in Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Parma, Italy in 1981. While in Italy he had the opportunity to travel and visit many interesting places across Europe. Skiing the Alps and exploring the Greek Islands were just a few of the highlights. Upon graduation he fulfilled the ECFVG requirements by attending Kansas State University for a one year internship. He owned a mixed animal practice in the Adirondacks in Peru, NY. He and his family relocated to Florida in 1989 and has been employeed by Bonita Veterinary Hospital ever since. In his free time he enjoys fishing, boating, cooking, reading and singing in the church choir. Dr. Besser is an avid beginner of the fiddle in bluegrass music. His wife, Linda, is also learning how to play the banjo. He hopes someday to retire and have a small farm.
Mike Gordon, DVM
Dr. Mike Gordon graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, a proud member of the SEC, in 1976. He then moved to Southern California and practiced medicine for 20 years, in which he owned his own practice for 10 of those years in Westlake Village.
Dr. Gordon has lived in Naples, FL since 1999 and has been associated with Bonita Veterinary Hospital since 2000. He is presently on the Board of Directors for Volunteer Services for Animals and has been for the past 4 years. He also donates his time to the Shelter for Abused Women and provides care for their pets when they enter the residence; he has been their Veterinarian for the past 7 years.
Dr. Gordon’s, aka Dr. Wonderful as his client’s refer to him; special interests include geriatric pets and quality of life issues.
Dr. Gordon’s home is a refuge for several rescued animals (including his wife!). His best friend Pebbles, the Pomeranian, remains the bright spot of his days.
