Dr. Lauren Washburn

Veterinarian

Born and raised in Bonita Springs, Florida, Dr. Washburn’s passion for animals began at a young age. Her family owned and operated the Everglades Wonder Gardens, a historic Bonita Springs attraction dedicated to education, conservation, and animal care through immersive botanical and wildlife exhibits.

In 2006, Dr. Washburn joined the U.S. military, serving as a combat veteran with deployments to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. She remained on active duty until 2010. After completing her service, she returned to school to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Dr. Washburn earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, in 2017. She was later accepted to St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2025.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Washburn enjoys spending time outdoors, going to the beach, and listening to music.
