Dr. Anna Hejlik

Medical Director

Dr. Anna Hejlik is thrilled to return to BVH, where she once shadowed Dr. Patterson and Dr. Ogden from her high school years through veterinary school.

Dr. Anna Hejlik is ecstatic to return to BVH, after shadowing Dr. Patterson and Dr. Ogden from high school until her graduation from veterinary school! Though she is originally from Raleigh, NC, she spent a great deal of time here in SWFL after part of her family permanently moved to the area. She earned her BS in Animal Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, where she was a Presidential Scholar, and then trekked even farther north for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. During her summers and breaks from school, when she wasn’t shadowing here at BVH, she pursued a variety of opportunities, such as an externship at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife in Sanibel, a research project for the Poultry Behavior Lab at Purdue, a volunteer spay/neuter program in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, and even worked as an experiential marketing associate for the Minnesota Vikings! After graduation, she decided to escape the arctic tundra winters of Minnesota to return to the sunny haven of SWFL. Dr. Hejlik especially enjoys honing her skills in surgery, dermatology, and ultrasonography. In her spare time, she enjoys binge-streaming shows, gaming, and spending quality time with her husband and 2 rescue dogs.
